Our annual University and Schools Dinner returned to College last night, acknowledging the remarkable academic success our students have achieved across 2019-2020.
Held in the Dining Hall, students, guests and College members gathered to dine together and celebrate the results of our hard-working Androvians, particularly through the uncertain landscape of 2020. The audience was treated to the customary Ode to a Haggis, musical performances from the Chamber Ensemble and Jazz Band, and several entertaining toasts. Special guest The Chancellor of University of Sydney, Belinda Hutchinson AC, assisted with the presentation of awards.
The official event program can be read here. The program demonstrates the diverse talent we have in College across a broad range of academic study, degrees and disciplines.
Listed are the Androvians who appear on the 2019 and 2020 University Honour Roll, including university medallists and those who have been awarded first class and second class honours. Also included are recipients of academic merit prizes, and other awards and prizes in various categories. Students who achieved High Distinction and Distinction averages are to be commended; the program contains the full list of Androvians who have accomplished this.
Many students who have been awarded individual scholarships were able to meet their benefactors at the dinner, which is always a terrific opportunity for both the donor and the student. Those with High Distinction and Distinction averages were also recognised.
A special mention to Mohammad Hassan, our St Andrew’s College Medallist.
We congratulate all those who achieved such impressive results in their university study. It was a very memorable evening and we thank all those in attendance.
We look forward to sharing photos from the event next week.
