Ted Stephenson, Honorary Secretary 2025

Ted Stephenson, St Andrew's College Honorary Secretary 2025

St Andrew’s College is excited to announce Ted Stephenson (Fr 2023) as the Honorary Secretary for 2025. Ted combines academic excellence with a deep commitment to building a vibrant and inclusive College community.

Born and raised in Sydney, Ted is pursuing a double degree in Economics and Law at the University of Technology Sydney. His professional aspirations are to establish a career in law in Sydney before looking at opportunities in the UK.

As Honorary Secretary, Ted will play a pivotal role in the organisational and administrative functions of the Students’ Club. His responsibilities include coordinating the College calendar, managing room allocations, and facilitating key events such as the Students’ Club AGM. Additionally, he will serve as a vital liaison between the student body, staff, and Council, helping to shape the future direction of the College.

Ted’s leadership style has been shaped by his experiences on and off the field. As Football Secretary in 2024, he led the Rawson Football Team with passion and dedication. Reflecting on that role, Ted shares, “We didn’t achieve the success we had hoped for, but it taught me the importance of leading by example rather than just directing and motivating.”

Beyond his leadership roles, Ted has embraced a wide range of extracurricular activities. He has represented St Andrew’s in Rawson Football and Rugby League, served as Treasurer for the Mother’s Day event in 2024, participated in the Environmental Sustainability Committee, and completed the Leadership Essentials Course. These experiences have significantly contributed to his personal growth and leadership development.

Ted credits his time at St Andrew’s as a catalyst for his growth and maturity, “The person who walked into St Andrew’s is vastly different to the person I am currently.” In 2024, Ted balanced his busy schedule of academia, sports, work and College commitments, an experience that has prepared him to adapt, prioritise and excel in the role of Honorary Secretary.

For Ted, the community at St Andrew’s stands out as its greatest strength. “The environment here is unmatched. Being surrounded by so many close friends who encourage and inspire each other to strive for excellence is truly special,” he says.

Looking ahead to 2025, Ted is enthusiastic about paying forward the vibrant College experience he has enjoyed. “I’m excited to replicate my experience in my first years at College for incoming Freshers and second years in 2025. I’ve thrived in this atmosphere and want to help create the same opportunities for those who follow.”

Ted offers advice to the incoming 2025 Freshers: “Subscribe to the culture St Andrew’s has to offer. The College has created an environment where everyone strives for excellence in academics, athletics, and personal growth. Embracing this culture is key to maturing into adulthood.” With Ted’s dedication and vision, 2025 promises to be another exciting year at St Andrew’s College.
