St Andrew’s College is pleased to announce that we are launching our Pre-Tertiary Mentoring and Tutoring Program, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic which has disrupted the studies of thousands of Year 12 students. Designed to help students with their HSC studies, the program will also equip them for life beyond high school.
Our College will be offering: HSC mentoring, HSC tutoring and information sessions on university/college scholarships and entry pathways (such as E12 and CEF).
It is open to all Year 12 students who wish to study at a university (not necessarily in Sydney) in 2021. The program will commence in Term 2 via Zoom and is free of charge to all Year 12 students.
As part of our College’s commitment to rural, regional and remote areas, students who identify from these locations will be prioritised in the allocation process.
The program promises to be rich and high quality with impressive statistics:
- More than 80 Andrew’s students have signed up to become a mentor/tutor
- Mentors and tutors are current university students studying in fields such as business, arts, law, science, education, medicine and health and veterinary science
- Most of our mentors and tutors have achieved band 6s in their respective subjects, some have attained state ranks and some with 99+ ATARs.
