New Chair for St Andrew’s College Council

St Andrew’s College is delighted to announce that Sasha Kovic has been appointed the new Chair of the College Council.

Sasha will take on the new role from 28 February 2022 and will chair her first meeting in early March. She succeeds Charlie Taylor, who steps down after eight successful years in the role.

Sasha is an alumna of St Andrew’s College, and graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering / Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) in 2010. She currently is the Manager – Origination at Roberts Co, a boutique tier-one construction company based in Sydney.

An experienced Councillor, Sasha has served more than seven years on the St Andrew’s College Council where she was Chair of the Major Works Committee and a member of the Operations Committee. Sasha led the formation of the College’s Young Alumni Committee in 2019 and has been a member of the St Andrew’s College Alumni Society Committee for the past two years.

Sasha said:

“I am honoured to be appointed as the next Chair of Council. College has played a significant role in my life – it has provided me with many opportunities and most importantly, lifelong friends. I have been fortunate to work alongside an inspiring group of Councillors who are equally as passionate about this unique institution. My focus will be to provide access for a more diverse group of students especially from rural / regional Australia; improve the campus facilities via the Harper Master Plan; and expand our educational offering to create strong community leaders. I look forward to leading St Andrew’s College into its next successful chapter and continuing to create the best environment it can be for all our students, staff and alumni.”

The Principal of St Andrew’s, Wayne Erickson, said:

“As our first female – and youngest – Chair of College, Sasha brings an infectious energy and substantive experience to the role. I’m sure that she will continue to grow the excellent work that Charlie Taylor delivered over his tenure. I look forward to working with Sasha, and this year’s all-female student executive, to drive forward our plans for 2022, including an exciting program of celebrations for 20 Years of Undergraduate Women.”
