We are delighted to announce Chloe Gillis (Fr 2023) as the St Andrew’s College Senior Student elect for 2025. Dedicated, vibrant, and driven, Chloe exemplifies a strong and respectful leader who understands that effective leadership means actively listening, building trust, and fostering a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and motivated.
The role of the Senior Student is to act as the CEO of the Students’ Club, overseeing all aspects of College life. As the representative of the student community, Chloe will advocate for students’ interests, working closely with College staff and Council, representing the College at significant events, and collaborating with Senior Students from other colleges to foster connection and shared goals.
Born and raised in Sydney, Chloe attended Wenona School before joining St Andrew’s in 2023. She is studying for a Bachelor of Interior Design and will enter her third year at St Andrew’s.
Reflecting on her time at St Andrew’s, Chloe shares, “I’ve gained invaluable experience managing teams, advocating for others, and navigating complex responsibilities. These experiences have strengthened my confidence and prepared me for future leadership opportunities.”
Over the past two years, Chloe has been a dynamic force at College, contributing to both creative and social spheres. She has served as Secretary of Solo and Group Palladian Drama, directed the DramSoc performance Boeing Boeing, and participated in sports such as diving and netball. Additionally, Chloe has taken on leadership roles, including Secretary of ‘B Lane,’ Food Secretary, and a mentor during the 2024 Welcome Week. She also contributed to the Highland Ball committee and performed as a member of Layzee Susan.
“Every experience, whether leading committees or directing performances, has pushed me outside my comfort zone,” Chloe says. “These opportunities have taught me new skills and deepened my sense of responsibility.”
For Chloe, the best part of St Andrew’s is the vibrant and inspiring community: “Being surrounded by a diverse group of driven, talented, and supportive students has been truly motivating,” she shares. “The friendships and connections I’ve built here have created a strong sense of belonging and a network of people who encourage me to be my best.”
Looking ahead, Chloe is excited to meet the 2025 Freshers and watch them shape College life.
Her advice to incoming students? “Try everything. Even if it feels out of your comfort zone, dive in. College life is packed with opportunities—committees, sports, performances, social events, and leadership roles that can shape you in incredible ways. The more you invest in College, the more you’ll gain, whether it’s lifelong friendships, new skills, or unforgettable memories.”
With Chloe at the helm, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for St Andrew’s College. We know she will lead with passion and dedication, continuing to make Drew’s a place where everyone can thrive.
