What are you most looking forward to in 2022 at College?
I am most looking forward to having a return to normalcy of social events, and large crowds at Rawson, Rosebowl and Palladian events.
What do you hope to achieve in your new role?
I hope to bring more social sports into Drew’s and make this more accessible to everyone at College. I think sports are a great way to create new relationships and connections to a wide range of people within the College. I also want to introduce more social events between the colleges to bring back a lot of intercollegiate pride and sense of community that has been lacking in the past few years.
Do you think the celebration of 20 Years of Undergraduate Women at St Andrew’s will affect your leadership?
I believe the 20 Years of Undergraduate Women will bring a large sense of pride to the College and encourage me to look more critically to how we can help support the women of the College, through social sports and events to celebrate the achievements of our fabulous cohort.
What made you choose St Andrew’s?
I chose St Andrew’s as it provides the culture of support, social connections and sporting excellence which I love and wanted to become a part of. St Andrew’s is such a unique experience of friendships, tradition and care, which makes every member feel part of this incredible community and instils a real sense of pride of College and your peers.
What other extra-curricular activities have you taken part in at College?
I am a member of the Drew’s swim team, basketball team and athletics team, all of which have been the highlight of my College experience. I took part in the spring carnival committee and had the incredible opportunity to work on a Sony Camp. I also was a part of the Social Waterpolo team and participated in the Drew’s charity run.
How has St Andrew’s helped you toward achieving your goals?
St Andrew’s has provided incredible support and facilities that have helped me work towards my sporting goals.
What’s the best thing about College?
The best part about College is the unique experience of friendships and sports which it provides. I am a highly competitive person, and the sporting aspects allows me to watch a range of incredible sports and partake in a range of activities which I would not do outside of Drew’s. The connections and friendships Drew’s provide are often forged through these sports teams, making it the best experience.
Do you have advice for 2022 freshers?’
Throw yourself into every aspect of life Drew’s have to offer and you won’t regret any of the time you spend in these walls.
