Elections were held in College in October to determine the 2020 House Committee.
We are proud of our elected students and look forward to introducing them to our community.
John Downes will be a part of our leadership team as the male Intercol Representative; here he speaks to us about his vision for next year.

What I am most looking forward to in 2020 at College: There are multiple things happening around Drew’s that I am excited to see come to fruition in 2020. The first being the opening of the new Thyne-Reid Link building. It will be an awesome addition to our already great campus and I am looking forward to being able to use the new facilities on offer next year. As well, the intercollegiate social sport has been a great addition to the more competitive Rawson and Rosebowl Cups. This is an area that is experiencing rapid growth and I am excited to see the continual rise of social sporting competitions so that more of our students can get in and have a go and experience the amazing honour of representing St Andrew’s College.
What I hope to achieve in the House Committee in 2020: As the male Intercollegiate Representative, I will work alongside Lily Paterson, the female Intercollegiate Representative, to facilitate Drew’s being a part of a cohesive and interactive USyd Intercol community. We will ensure Drew’s students have ample opportunity to meet students attending other colleges by organising social events throughout the year for all to attend. A large proportion of this is in the organisation of Welcome Week, where Lily and I will organise a plethora of events for new students to integrate. I am very excited for this role and look forward to a great Welcome Week and social year in 2020.
Advice for 2020 freshers: Get around everything and everyone, especially in the first few weeks. The St Andrew’s experience is what you make it. I believe the more you put into College, the more you are going to get out of it!
