What are you most looking forward to in 2022 at College?
As this is my final year at College, I am excited to work with this year’s Executive and House Committee team to create and make the most of another packed social, academic and sporting calendar. I am also really looking forward to engaging in the new initiatives the PCL team have introduced such as Tea and Tim Tams and Walk and Talk as this is a great chance to meet new people and bond in a relaxed and open environment.
What do you hope to achieve in your new role?
As Alumni Liaison I will strive to ensure an engaging alumni and professional development calendar that offers something valuable for every student across a range of disciplines. This year we have introduced an alumni sub-committee of three students from second and third year who also assist in facilitating and planning a range of these events. Our aim is to inspire students by connecting them with alumni who exemplify the diverse range of career paths that can be pursued following university. Furthermore, we would like to enhance students’ sense of preparedness for entering the workforce through facilitating practical skills application activities, such as case study competitions, and building mentor relationships with alumni.
Do you think the celebration of 20 Years of Undergraduate Women at St Andrew’s will affect your leadership?
This momentous occasion is a very exciting opportunity to celebrate our generations of inspiring St Andrew’s women which I aim to reflect in our alumni and professional development events. This recognition of our female alumnus will hopefully inspire current students to continue strive for excellence and create a strong network of Androvian women.
What made you choose St Andrew’s?
Aside from the beautiful main building and grounds, going on tours and speaking to current residents made it clear that St Andrew’s had a strong sense of community and a give it a go culture whether that be in sports, academia or music that I wanted to be a part of.
What other extra-curricular activities have you taken part in at College?
There is so much on offer here that it is hard to keep track, but I have tried to give everything a shot! My standout activity so far has been participating in the Big Dance performance for the Palladian cup. Practicing in a team and learning new lifts and tricks was a really enjoyable experience that gave me the chance to get to know a new group of people in a really fun environment.
How has St Andrew’s helped you toward achieving your goals?
St Andrew’s has given me the opportunity to be surrounded everyday by incredibly talented and ambitious people who in turn encourage me to continue working towards my own goals. In particular, the tutorial program has been an excellent academic support system that guided me through the transition from high school to university.
What’s the best thing about College?
The best thing is having your friends living next door. There is always someone up for a chat and a cup of tea which fosters a supportive and safe living and learning environment.
Do you have advice for 2022 freshers?

Have a crack at everything and be inclusive because everyone is in the same boat, the time flies so make the most of it!
