Meet Charlotte Haling (Fr 2020), the Rosebowl Representative of the 2022 House Committee. Born in Dubbo, Charlotte grew up on a farm outside of a small country town called Gulargambone. Charlotte attended Kinross Wolaroi School and is studying a Bachelor of Laws/Arts at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022 at College?
Enjoying my last year at college with my best mates – it is a very special time in our lives, and I am grateful to be spending these years at Drew’s.
What do you hope to achieve in your new role?
I hope that we can work together to retain the Rosebowl Cup yet again. Most importantly though, I hope to uphold the inclusiveness in sport at Drew’s and to make it a fun but competitive environment.
Do you think the celebration of 20 Years of Undergraduate Women at St Andrew’s will affect your leadership?
It will affect my leadership in the sense that I want every girl at Drew’s to feel empowered and included when they are involved in sport. It is a very special time for the women of St Andrew’s, and we are grateful for the Drew’s women before us for making it such a welcoming and accommodating place for us.
What made you choose St Andrew’s?
I wanted to be involved in a diverse and stimulating community, which would push me to be a better person, and which provides an abundance of opportunity – whether that be sporting, academic or cultural.
What other extra-curricular activities have you taken part in at College?
Netball, Rugby 7s, Soccer, Athletics and Pastoral Care Leader.
How has St Andrew’s helped you toward achieving your goals?
The experiences and opportunities at Drew’s have provided me with the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and realise my potential. The individuals residing at Drew’s are encouraging, positive and inspiring, which has helped me towards achieving my goals.
What’s the best thing about College?
The best thing about College is that there is no other place where you can form such close friendships, where they will stay your best mates for life.
Do you have advice for 2022 freshers?
Be grateful, stay humble and make the most out of the once in a lifetime opportunity you have been given.
